Fibromyalgia
is viewed as a chronic “incurable” condition
with the most common presenting symptom being body-wide
pain and numerous tender points. Other symptoms include
fatigue, irritable bowels, memory and cognitive difficulties.
As well as numbness, sleep disturbances, tension and
migraine headaches.
The causes of Fibromyalgia are
as varied as the individuals that walk into the office.
The latest research has pointed to a viral etiology,
however chronic stress, adrenal exhaustion, neurotransmitter
imbalances have also all been noted to play a role in
the disease process.
Fibromyalgia is traditionally
treated with three different medications; anti-depressants,
pain killers, and sleeping pills. Dr. Ardolf saw the
disservice done to women by the use of these addictive
medications. In her own words: “The person suffering
from Fibromyalgia may have temporary relief but no resolution
of the symptoms”.
Today, Dr. Ardolf with her training
and life experiences has many treatment options available
to set women free from Fibromyalgia without the dependency
of prescription medications. She strives to find the
causative agent of the disease and treat it accordingly.
